1900 Serbia strife. A quick dummy’s guide or dumbed down answer to Serbia, Bosnia, Yugoslavia and Croatian relations.

I’m reading ‘war is a force that gives us meaning’ but Chris Hedges and he references civil war and ethnic violence about Bosnia quite a bit. It seems the more I look it up the more confusing it is. Lots of biased answers and two histories it seems, because of the obvious ethnic and religious views.

Does it go back to, like, Ottoman Empire times? I know wwi was set off by a Serbian member of the black hand. Is what happened in 90’s related to what happened in the 40s to what happened in early 1900s?

Is this dumb to ask on this sub? Also sorry if this is articulated poorly but I think you get the gist.

The simple answer is that, in Eastern and Central Europe, everybody hated everybody else. That’s pretty much a “forever” kind of thing.
