Are bucks (male deer) less common than does (female deer).

I live in a very wooded area and I rarely see a deer with antlers, maybe once or twice a year. However, pretty much every single day I see a herd of does walking across my property eating grass. Where are the bucks? Why do they seem to be wildly less common to see than does?

Deer shed their antlers annually and only grow them around mating season. So you’re only going to see antlers certain times of year to begin with.
