Are the metals in tap water that filters remove (magnesium, calcium, etc) for flavor beneficial to us? Or are those different than the minerals listed on nutrition labels?

Yes magnesium and calcium are both beneficial for you, but they are not generally deliberately added to water for public health purposes. In some places, fluorine is added to tap water and has been shown to be beneficial for dental health. Chlorine is often added to kill bacteria, and at the levels it exists it is safe for human consumption but not beneficial to your health (but beneficial in other ways, to keep the water free of bacteria)
