Are these fish still alive outside of the water?

I came across this interesting clip. I wanted to know if these fish were truly alive or some other biological process happening?

Those are known as algae eaters colloquially in the USA because we use them to clean fish tanks and keep the algae under control.

They are also known as pleco fish because the formal name is hypostomus plecostomus (though depending on where they are in the world they could be the amazon sailfin catfish/ pterygoplichthys pardalis) and the common name is suckermouth catfish. They are nearly 100% bone.

Both species can “breath” air by swallowing it into their stomach where the oxygen is absorbed. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypostomus_plecostomus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypostomus_plecostomus)
