Burner Phone Plans, How do GBs work?

I need a burner phone since mine is broken and I can’t get it fixed right now. I found this plan for a phone that says it has unlimited talk and text for 30 days but you have to pay $20 for 2GB, $30 for 4GB, and so on. I don’t really understand what this means because I’ve never had to buy a phone for myself before. How do GBs work in this? Is this just the amount of storage I’m buying per month on the phone or is it limiting my call/texts in this way still?

Its not storage, it’s data usage. Depending on plan, MMS/RCS messaging data usage may still count as general data usage. Calls are usually separately limited if limited, but sounds like that limit is high enough to not be a concern

This is the amount of internet data you use, not the amount of storage.

The storage is on the phone, and is independent of the data package you use.

Data would be things like visiting websites, watching videos, streaming music, etc.

Be warned; a lot of apps use background data, and you need to specifically set them not to use background data in the settings.

Also, I would stop using the term “burner phone”. This phrase is used to indicate that you are going through a lot of cheap phones because you don’t want to be tracked.

This is almost exclusively used by people breaking the law (e.g. drug dealers), or espionage.

If you buy a prepaid plan sim, you’ll have to register it online to get a phone number and start using it. Every price is with a prepaid plan that shows up when you resister the sim card

so you broke your phone and therefore need to get a new sim card?
how does that work? what’s wrong with the one you have?
