Calculator says 8÷2(2+2)=1

Question

I know bedmas. Shouldn’t it be left to right when tied?(multiplication and division). This would give 16.

This is a special case.

Because yes, this could be interpreted as:

(8/2)*4 =16

or

8/(2*4) =1

But what you have here is called “implied multiplication” because you haven’t actually written 2*4. Implied multiplication is done before division (sometimes, I’m not sure that universal)
