Calories aside, why is some food unhealthy?

I understand that calories control weight gain/loss, but why are some foods unhealthy? If you are healthy, work out, and have no deficiencies, why shouldn’t you eat loads of chocolate, soft drinks etc? Doesn’t everything we eat break down into the same stuff?

Because some food is full of chemicals and stabilizers and colors and ‘flavors’. Yes you can eat it, but it’s not healthy.
