Can the fog increase the range of a ray of light?

Rn I’m in the fog and just saw far away how brighter was the avenue I walk, when I arrive there I realized it was only the streetlights

It doesn’t increase the range of light, but it scatters the light more effectively. So more of the light hits the retina making it seem brighter. It’s like the chalk dust with flashlight experiment.
