Wait, what? I’ve had about 5 kidney stones in my life, and not once was I operated on without sedation/anaesthesia. Which country does this? Each time I went to the clinic, I was given immediately the painkiller Diclofenac.
I’ve undergone lithotripsy about 3 times. The last time was between January and March, during which I had a maximum of 5 sessions for a single kidney stone. You’re sedated for the 45-minute session. The last 5 minutes are extremely painful, even with sedation.
The pain that comes with kidney stones is number 1 on my list, even though I experience episodes of terrible cluster headaches for which I need to inject myself with sumatriptan.
