Deciduous Leaves Before A Thunderstorm

Why does it seem like, just prior to a thunderstorm, and without any significant winds, do leaves on deciduous trees seem to flip belly-up with a white-ish color showing?

I’d never heard of this, but google seems to think it’s mostly due to winds often changing before storms, e.g. [here.](https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/news-events/the-buzz/nature-curiosity-why-do-leaves-flip-before-rains/)
