Hello, I am just curious how people can be identified with dental records? Can someone explain me?

The teeth tends to grow differently in different people due to a number of factors. You may notice how some of your teeth are not perfectly straight and are usually quite different from others. And then you have cavities in different places. And whenever you have dental work being done these are slightly different for different people. This makes your dental records rather unique. It is far from a perfect system of identification as it is possible for two people to have very similar dental records and your teeth do change over time. But it can give some help in identifying someone. Most importantly you can exclude a lot of people if their dental records do not match.
