Difference between cadence, inflection and intonation

233 viewsOther

Hi I know this may make me sound stupid, but I don’t understand the explanations I found online, as it makes all 3 sound like the same thing. If someone could help me out that would be great! Thank you!

Cadence = rhythm/speed. Like if you speed up or slow down.

Inflection = when you change a word to use a tense or pluralize etc. like when you add ‘s to make it possessive. Or conjugate a verb.

Intonation = your tone like if you’re emphasizing a word or being sarcastic. “Are you sure?” vs “Are you _sure_?”
