Do saws ever need to be sharpened?If so, how is it done efficiently?

It depends on the type of saw. Some steel blades cannot be sharpened in regular sharpening ways. Others, depending on blade metal and teeth size, can be. There are special files for that purpose. There is also a special tool to set the teeth (sideways).

Yes, saws need sharpening. But there isn’t really a cool way of doing it: you just have to sharpen one tooth at a time with a file, dremel, stone, or whatever. A human can get in a rhythm and fly through the process, or you can build a jig or machine to advance the teeth and grind them, but it’s still a repetitive process.

Some saws have disposable blades of course, but that’s cheating.
