the average human processes one unit of alcohol per hour. A beer in the u.k contains about 3 units per pint so if you are drinking a pint every hour you are gonna get yourself more and more shit faced over time
Typically we slow down towards the end of the night. At the after party ..the comedown listening to some ibiza chill choons in a cuddle puddle or w/e.. ..when we decide to drink till dawn coz you got work in the morning and its better to stay awake than sleep (as we tell ourselves)… that’s because you slow your drinking right down. At this point you can ‘drink yourself sober’..when you are drinking slower than your body is processing it… faster than you are consuming it
But yeah you will get more and more drunk if you drink units faster than you can process it
It really depends what you’re actually happening. For an average 150lb person one drink will increase your blood alcohol level by about .02 and every hour your liver will reduce it by .02. So your blood alcohol level is affected only by time and number of drinks, regardless of how many you’ve already had. That being said there may be a significant difference in your cognition and drunk feeling going from .02 to .04BAC than going from .10 to .12 for example.
