Does dish soap do anything other than emulsification?

I know that the main power-play of dish soap, hand soap, etc. is the binding of both oil and water to the same molecule chain, allowing these things to dissolve in water.

Does it do anything else? I understand that Laundry detergent can also have whiteners and brighteners in them, but do dish or hand soap have other features too? e.g. Higher pH levels?

Yes dish soap does more than just mix oil and water some soaps have extra stuff like antibacterial agents, moisturizers, or fragrances. They might also be a bit more alkaline depending on their purpose
