Since water molecules are closer together when colder so more “water” in a given amount of space(or molecules in general I think I could be wrong, I could be wrong about this whole thing) could it be reasoned that drinking cold water results in drinking more water than hot water? And if not how come?

Cold water is denser than warm water, so yes, in a very technical sense. If you drink the same volume of cold water vs the same volume of warm water the cold water had more water molecules in it and would have weighed very slightly more. Interestingly though the least efficient way to drink water is by eating ice, because the density of (typical) ice is even less than that of boiling water. Also, it will make your mouth very cold
