Does light occupy space?

My son wants to know how we can perceive light and it not take up any space at the same time.

Light behaves as a wave and, particle (photon) at the same time. It occupies space in the sense there are a finite amount of them you can have in one bit of space (well kinda…). You can see light as it stimulates cells.
