does smells attaching to plastic mean it’s contaminated

I recently soaked sea moss in this plastic container for 24 hours, and I didn’t think too much because I planned to store it in plastic anyway since every time. I’ve used glass it just busted in my freezer. (I realized the setting might just have been too cold, because once the same happened to a plastic container) The smell got stuck to the container, and it’s been about an hour after being rinsed.

I know this is considered normal and that plastics have pores or whatever but does that mean it’s like a mutual transfer between the stored substance and the plastic? (This will determine wether I consume the sea moss)

No. Every type of plastic has its own smell. I used to work in a plastics factory and every type if plastic had its own smell, i could tell wich type of plastic was being used in wich machine just buy the way they smell. My favorite smelled like burning chocolate 😂
