My teeth went brown because I smoke. My dentist has me using a high fluoride toothpaste that I get from the pharmacy (not on script) and told me not to rinse my mouth after using it so it has time to work. She said it will take about a year for my teeth to loose the stains. She told me to stay away from supermarket toothpaste as they can weaken the teeth – they are full of abrasives and chemicals that whiten the teeth but can also make the outer layers of enamel brittle.
