There’s this trend currently on Instagram where videos of glass bottles & jars with alcoholic & food content is rolled over staircases & the visuals of the container breaking is somewhat satisfying/engaging. My observation is that bottles containing alcoholic beverages in particular are fragile & break easily during this exercise as compared to those containing foodstuffs or other items. Any insight as to why this happens?

Relatively thin glass.
Things like jars of salsa, for example are made of fairly thick glass, both to make them more durable, and because things that are preserved in jars require them to be heated up and vacuum sealed, so they need the extra strength.
Bottles of beverages on the other hand, don’t need to be heated and vacuum sealed in the same way, so they don’t need that extra strength, the savings in transport costs due to lower weight, and the greater ease of carrying makes it beneficial to use thinner glass.
Bottles of maple syrup will be similarly thin as they also don’t need to be heated and vacuum sealed
Many wines can be left to age. They need to be stored in a container that won’t be affected by the water/ethanol mix, which is a pretty good solvent. This limits you really to glass as plastic isn’t an option. The thicker the glass is, the heavier it becomes, which increases production and transportation costs.
