I searched and did find radio wave discussions but nothing like this question.
I have a wireless transmitter and receiver about 40 yards apart.
Can a weak battery (9 volt) in the transmitter cause the signal to be delayed getting to the receiver and result in a slow response?
Or will it just not be strong enough to get the signal to the receiver and result in no response?

A weak battery can’t slow down a signal. All it could do is make it weak enough not to be received or not have enough power to transmit anything.
