Eli5: a home AC unit. The differences between “cool”, “auto”, “dry”. What is actually happening in these settings and which should I use?

It’s currently 38 degrees Celsius outside.

My ac remote also has things like “I Feel”, “Health”, “Turbo”.

What do they all mean?

I Feel, Health and Turbo depends on what the manufacturer has made those functions to be. You can probably find it in the manual.

But I’ve heard of I Feel before. And that is basically a temp sensor in the remote. So you take the remote to where you are sitting so that the AC will run to the set temperature is measured by the remote. That way it might be colder/hotter where the AC is (if you’re sitting far away), but the “correct” temperature where you are sitting.

Turbo is usually just a function to run at max power to get the temps up/down quick if the set temperature is a lot higher/lower than what the temperature actually is.

Health i don’t know.
