Eli5: A lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays, which makes sense to me since they’ve been open all weekend. Why do a lot of Asian restaurants close on Tuesday instead?

I don’t think bank holidays are a thing in the US? In the UK, bank holidays are always on a Monday. If they were closed during a public holiday i.e. Monday, they would lose out.
