I always supposed that it was the waste of the previous meal. They were pushed by the recent undigested food.

Because of the gastrocolic reflex. Basically new food coming into your GI tract triggers peristalsis and also signals sphincters downstream to relax, so everything moves a level down towards the anus.

It won’t always indicate this but it could indicate you either are constipated or that your metabolism is very fast. Assuming the food you’ve eaten isn’t making you sick! Basically your body is making room in the colon to digest the meal you’ve just eaten
