Can someone explain the difference between the two? How are they getting similar performance when HDMI 2.1a has a bigger bandwidth?

DisplayPort 1 4a is the latest standard for connecting monitors to PCs. It supports 8K resolution at 60Hz, 4K resolution at 144Hz, and HDR. HDMI 2 1a is an older standard that only supports 4K resolution at 60Hz.
