Eli5: Do plants really have photoreceptors and can see?

I remember reading a botany book that brought up the topic of if plants can “see”. They were talking about a vine species in Chile that can wrap around a host plant and mimics the host plants leaves. I think the conclusion was that the stomata which are the tiny pores on the leaves that allow gas and liquid to be exchanged can act as a very simple optic lens.
