Eli5 : Do web spinning spiders walk forward or backwards when spinning their webs?

mostly, forwards. the web spinners are in the rear of their abdomen, so its easier to walk forwards and drag the web out that way.
if you search youtube for “spider web making” or similar, you can find some really nice nature documentary stuff showing them doing this.
