sometimes in war movies you see people light a room with red light to help their night vision, or use green light I think. Also some headlamps or fancy flashlights offer a colored lens filter that is red or green. Is there any truth or science to this?
Red light is not very disruptive of your night vision. That’s because the cells which are most sensitive at night are very sensitive to it. So you can use red light while still having those cells be at full sensitivity.
