Eli5 Electrocution by Pro Audio in Rain

While I was watching a Taylor Swift concert from last night’s infamous Nashville rain show I couldn’t help but wonder if she might electrocute herself with her electronics. Thankfully everything turned out well and everyone had a great time. Could someone please explain how this is not dangerous?

Stuff that is installed outdoors and designed for possible outdoor use will have protections built in, typically. Most of the stuff near the performers will be low voltage or low power devices anyway.

The big power goes behind the scenes with the big amplifiers, laser and light controls etc. Accidents could occur, of course, but would be fairly rare and typically it would be human error rather than the electronics itself. Outdoor electric equipment have been a thing for at least a century.

For all that electricity is dangerous (especially at very high voltages), electricity is very easily insulated against for “home” use. Even a very thin barrier of insulation (or air) stops home supplied electricity.
