Eli5: Enthalpy and the human body

It’s been 2 decades since AP chemistry so can someone explain to me simply whether the human body is endothermic or exothermic? I keep confusing myself when googling…

Exothermic. If a reaction produces heat it is Exothermic, if a reaction drains heat, it is Endothermic.

The human body makes heat, this is why we have a body temperature and need a cooler environment than our body.

Endothermic.

Chemical reactions can be endothermic or exothermic.

Animals can be endothermic or ***ecto***thermic. It describes the source of heat. Warm-blooded animals are endotherms, as their heat source is internal. Cold-blooded animals are ectothermi, as their source of heat is external.
