eli5: Every base is base 10

Question

Something I found while reading about base systems, I can’t really wrap my head around it. Maybe it has to do with fractions?

Base 2 is not base ten.

000 = 0

001 = 1

010 = 2

011 = 3

100 = 4

101 = 5

110 = 6

111 = 7

How is that “base ten?”
