They found that low levels of a specific protein was correlated to higher risk of alcohol abuse. It might be useful for prevention or treatment of alcohol abuse after further study.
That protein is part of the endocanebanoid system. The endocanebanoid system gets it’s name because it is what cannabis acts on. However it’s a very misleading name because other than that it has nothing to do with cannabis. The endocanebanoid system is a bunch of neurotransmitters and receptors in your brain, other things affect it, and it is present/active in everyone.
