I have a gas bottle for barbecuing and recently purchased a magnet gas indicator. How does this work?

It’s a thermometer, like you’d see on a fish tank.
When the grill is being used, the liquid propane will stay warm but what evaporates into the empty part will get cold from the decompressing gas, making it colder. The gauge will show you where that point it.
It likely won’t work much unless you’re using it.
