Although worth noting an ostrich will out run a human in endurance, being bi-pedal helps with oxygen circulation

It’s the skin, really. When we get hot, we sweat and cool down. Other animals pant and overheat. People hunt in Africa by walking until the prey dies of heat stroke.

Depends on the human, because I can take my GSP/Lab mix on a 5k run and when we get back I’m literally dead and he still acts like he could run a 10k.

It’s not about endurance it’s about heat. They don’t run out of air, they overheat and cant cool down.

Humans sweat to cool down, most animals have fur and can’t cook off quick. Wolves and dogs are one of the exceptions – wolves can run 120 miles in a day for a week straight. When it’s cold. Huskies as well, when it’s cold. But try taking a husky for a jog when it is 85f and sunny – and you will absolutely outrun them. Same dog in the snow will smoke you.

I don’t think this is accurate at all. I can’t think of a single same size mammal that I can out endure

I think only at slow speed and walking. By standing straight up, a human has a lot more air drag at higher speeds compared to a wolf for example, since air drag is increasingly problematic at higher speed.
