Lots of different conditions where the brain has trouble putting together the two slightly different images it gets.

Sometimes the best thing to do is block one of the images.

Another one i can think of is bells palsy. The partial paraylsis of the face. I used an eye patch to protect my eye from daily issues as i couldnt blink and wore it at night so i could sleep. Was much better than taping my eye shut

Some kids are born with a weakness in one eye. Instead of developing properly your brain will just create a rendered image based on the good eye only. Putting a patch over the good eye for all or part of the time is like doing physio for the weak eye

When I had a corneal abrasion it was very painful to see light in my one eye. I wore an eye patch to leave my dark room until it healed.
