Your brain doesn’t run on magic. It shares the same infrastructure and energy with the rest of your body. If your body is tired, your mind is also tired because there’s less energy to go around. A tired brain cannot handle complex tasks like emotional management.

Inflammation starts in the brain, then works it’s way down to the muscles and organs, like rigor mortis.

So when you are burned out, you are stressed, and stress leads to inflammation and vice versa, ie chronic inflammed injuries will burn you out emotionally.

Stress affects your whole body, not just your brain. Your heart rate and blood pressure end up elevated. There are stress hormones that flood your body and upset your digestive system and other organs. It’s very recent in human history that we have things to be emotionally upset about that AREN’T also a likely immediate threat to our physical health. Our body isn’t very good at separating stress from a job vs. stress from a tiger in the bushes. Everything is on high alert, and that is exhausting.

When you are emotionally burnt out, you can no longer pull from your inner reserves for energy and must find it from elsewhere.

Your nervous system is in your body and head. The brain and all the nerves in your body are connected and one thing ultimately. Thats why can feel emotional pain in the body.

It’s NOT about lack of energy. It’s the nervous system being used to much (or little causing degradation)

Your brain makes up only 2% of your bodies mass but it uses 20% of the bodies energy, this is why your emotional state has such a large effect on your energy.
