Eli5.. how did they blast off from the moon to get back to earth?

OP, are you thinking that the very large rocket, like what you see taking off from earth lands on the moon and returns?
That doesn’t happen. It doesnt, “blast off’,” from the moon again. Most of that are booster stages and fall away as the fuel is sued. That fuel and size of the rockets are calculated to provide the right amount of boost to take off and overcome earth’s gravity then to give enough momentum to get the small section to the moon. Once there it has enough fuel to set its orbit around the moon. A very small landing craft detached and landed in the moon. It had enough fuel to land,cthen take off again to meet the orbiting craft. That module had enough fuel to leave orbit and get enough inertia to coast back to earth, us enough extra to maneuver for the best reentry into earth’s atmosphere.
People still believe we went to the moon???
