ELI5- How did throwing bouquets become a wedding tradition?

flowers have been a symbol of luck and new beginnings since the greeks; flowers were routinly given to guests, sometimes from wreaths/headdresses worn by the bride
throwing a bouquet as we know it today is from the English…..as a token of luck; primarily leaving poverty (or the family house) by getting married
