Eli5 How do air moves across closed abandoned buildings or is it highly localised?

If we are talking about a normal building that is not totally sealed off — we will most likely see chimney effect air flow during daytime, where as the sun heats up the building, hotter air rise and escapes from creases that are near the top of the building, and cooler air flows into the building near ground level.
