Eli5: how do animals in the desert, or jungle, find a water source?

In the case of the desert, many animals don’t drink liquid water. They simply use the water they get from whatever they eat, and then have various strategies for losing as little water as possible. Otherwise, many are able to travel fairly long distances in search for it. Many just remember where they’ve previously been able to get water, and go back there. Birds can fly, and see far further.
Jungles have plenty of water around.
