Eli5 How do contact lenses stay in correct position following your eye movement?

As the other poster stated, the eyes aren’t spherical and lenses are also designed to sit at the front of the cornea, so even if you look left/right/up etc. the lens moves with the eye and generally recentres itself when you are looking ahead again.
