I think you GROSSLY underestimate the amount of money advertisers spend.
On top of that though is also personal data sales.
Knowing what kind of games and what type of microtransactions are being made are invaluable to developers trying to make a quick buck.
Rule one of modern marketing: if you cannot identify the product, then you are the product.
Rule two of modern marketing: you are still the product even if you can identify it.
