Eli5: How do oceans exist? Specifically, how was water able to build up like that on earth without evaporating?

I don’t know anything about the formation of large bodies of water, so here I am.

There is a shit ton of water, and that water settles at the lowest points possible. Because, like, gravity.

The topography of the land dictates where the oceans will be, it’s not like a little puddle forms somewhere randomly and turns into an ocean.

The air can only hold so much water vapor before it condenses and falls as rain.

Even if the air was constantly at 100% capacity, there would still be way more water than that. It has to go somewhere.
