Eli5 : How do wheels push a car forward ?

I know that a motor, through transmission, make wheels turn. But.. How do wheels “drive” a whole car (or anything with wheels and a motor) ? Where do the force apply to make this ton of steel move?

The actual force transmission is mostly occurring through the wheel bearings where the rotating axle contacts the stationary frame of the car. They bear the friction and the load, hence the name.

The equal and opposite reaction force is transmitted to the ground through tires – the earth spins ever so slightly in the other direction.
