eli5, how do wind turbines spin if the wind is pushing on both the top and bottom of the propeller?

The blades are perpendicular to the wind. The wind hits all the blades, but all of that contact causes rotation in the same direction.

Think of how a fan works, with all the blades rotating to push air forward. And then run the process backward, with the air moving the blades. Exactly the same process, just reversed.
