X-rays are like visible light, just with more energy.
That means there are some things they can pass through (like visible light passes glass) and other that blocks it (like a wall blocks visible light), in the X-rays case they can pass through the entire body except the bones, so if you “take a picture” of a person with an “X-ray version of a camera” you see all the bones and if there is any problem with them
