How can they name a building northern, western, southern, or eastern where it can be in any direction depending where you are?

If you build two office buildings next to each other, and one is to the east of the other, you can call it the East Office.
If you buy a building on the northern side of the city, you can call it Office North.
If you buy a building anywhere, and you like the name “South Office”, you can call it South Office for absolutely no reason.
