The short answer is that legally you can’t in the US at least. In fact you can’t even legally collect it for yourself, it’s part of a protected, endangered marine animal. Having said that, if you google “how to sell ambergris” you’ll quickly find that the market exists out in the open, and you can in fact sell it if you have it.
So… it’s a bit of a grey area.
