When in an urgent situation the brain is capable of ignoring inputs from the body. It’s not that your nerves aren’t sending pain signals, the brain is just ignoring the pain signals so that you can do what you need to survive.

Pain, parts of sound and vision, digestion, bladder and bowel control are all optional when it comes to surviving the next 30 seconds of an emergency situation. So the brain just ignores them and focuses on what might keep you alive.
