I have tried some times now, and for me it actually seems to help a little bit. Not much, but still a bit? And I wonder if it could have to do with placebo effect?

It’s just a distraction. Clench your fist, wait no, make sure it’s your left fist and also move your thumb around in circles, now think about what physiological reason could possibly make this work, are there some nerves that run towards your hand and specifically your left hand that make you not gag if you squeeze them….now swallow the pill and it’s over.
